Incident 2026-06-21 Kabul province AHRC-2026-0621-KAB-01

Summary

Taliban authorities raided the Kabul office of the Women and Children Legal Research Foundation (WCLRF) on June 21, 2026, confiscating devices and sealing the premises. On July 18, 2026, six male staff members were summoned back to the office under the pretext of collecting their confiscated devices and were instead taken into custody. Families have received no information on their whereabouts, condition, or charges — constituting enforced disappearance under international law. Human Rights Watch called for their immediate release.

Where

We record how precisely an event can be placed, because "somewhere in the province" and "this street" are different claims.

Exact

Placed to province only. No source names a district, so the entry is recorded at the coarsest honest level rather than implying a precision we do not have.

Each code names the treaty provision the conduct engages, so the assignment can be checked rather than trusted.
